Allow me to share something of myself with you.
Originally from Sydney, I have lived in the beautiful Bellinger Valley since 1989. I love travelling and spent many years earlier in my life travelling throughout Europe, North Africa, Canada, the Middle East and India. Recently I traveled to Tanzania and Zanzibar which was very exciting.
I have a background in Playback Theatre (spontaneous improvised theatre) as an actor and musician which has given me many valuable skills for my work as a celebrant. For example, I am completely comfortable in front of a crowd, I can deal with the unexpected and I have a clear harmonious voice.
I am a professional Counsellor specializing in relationships and grief and loss. Locally, I coordinate a volunteer service that supports people in grief and people experiencing the challenge of facing a life threatening situation. I am also an educator and trainer in this field and have taught at University and college.
I started celebrancy work initially by being asked to conduct funerals in my local community. This was a great honour and meaningful work and I went on to register as a civil marriage celebrant in 2004.
What I love about conducting weddings is being in the joy of people's lives. Being a celebrant combines my care and love for people, my skill and flare for writing and my passion for bringing meaning to important life events. I am a vibrant easy going adventurous person who loves meeting all different types of people.
And most of all, I love being a part of love!
